About Genesis
Small business owners rarely start their companies because they love managing the books. They start because they believe in a skill, a service, or a product they are passionate about. Over time, however, the financial side of the business can become overwhelming and is often the very thing that keeps them up at night.
That is where Genesis Bookkeeping comes in.
I am Liz, founder of Genesis Bookkeeping and Business Services. I help small business owners gain clarity and confidence in their finances so they can spend less time stressing over numbers and more time focusing on running and growing their business.
My path here was not a straight line, but every step prepared me for this work. I began my career in cost accounting, where I learned how numbers tell the story of a business. From there, I spent over 15 years in Loss Prevention for a large restaurant company, including 10 years as Director, where I relied on financial analysis, internal controls, and data analytics to protect profitability and strengthen the bottom line. I later moved into project management and customer success, where I developed the ability to bring structure to complex challenges, build efficient systems, and create relationships rooted in trust, communication, and genuine care.
Today, I bring all of that experience together to serve small business owners, combining financial insight, analytical problem-solving, and a genuine desire to help. As a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I specialize in bookkeeping, financial organization, catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping, and QuickBooks setup.
